Excellent guide to the best business practices in Workforce Shaping

Dan Ward has put together an excellent reference for working through personnel development in the workforce 3.0 environment.

"Positioned" is well-written and logical. It fits nicely with other, cutting edge works, e.g., Dan Pink's "Drive."

The tone is conversational, and you can tell from the first chapter that Dan Ward is someone that has applied his lessons to many practical situations.

I appreciate that the author also points out the limits of his personnel theory. Many authors wax eloquently about their successes, but they are mum on where their points don't apply. Dan Ward boldly tells you where this doesn't work, e.g., static labor pools, low end skill positions, etc.

My Division is actively applying Ward's techniques!

When Rosie meet Luca there was on instant love connection from both. But Luca had a lot riding on winning Rosie in marriage. His secrets would devestate her. He was a man on a mission to win her over. He also was a man made of vengence for the wrongs done to him by his parents. Can Rosie melt his heart with love? This was a emotional read. Both had so much to gain and loose. Have enjoyed reading books by Clare Connelly.

I am so happy I r e ad this story. Yeah this is the 1st book in the series and I read it 2nd. It was great none the less. After finishing Maggie's story, I just had to read Rosie's. And I'm very glad I did. Wonderful HEA ending!

Preface In this age of electronic connectivity, of viruses and hackers, of electronic eavesdropping and electronic fraud, network security has assumed increasing importance. Two trends have come together to make the topic of this book of vital interest. First, the explosive growth in computer systems and their interconnections via networks has increased the dependence of both organizations and individuals on the information stored and communicated using these systems. This, in turn, has led to a heightened awareness of the need to protect data and resources from disclosure, to guarantee the authenticity of data and messages, and to protect systems from network-based attacks. Second, the disciplines of cryptography and network security have matured, leading to the development of practical, readily available applications to enforce network security. Objectives It is the purpose of this book to provide a practical survey of network security applications and standards. The emphasis is on applications that are widely used on the Internet and for corporate networks, and on standards, especially Internet standards, that have been widely deployed. Intended Audience The book is intended for both an academic and a professional audience. As a textbook, it is intended as a one-semester undergraduate course on network security for computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering majors. Dated material with no clear direction

This book seems to have an identity crisis - on one hand it goes into great detail on the MIME format of email (unrelated to security), while on the other it dedicated very little space to several critically important security concepts (e.g. HTTPS certificate usage in web browsers and modern cert practices). Much of the book is outdated, which also detracts heavily. The book does, however, provide a plethora of additional resources to turn to in order to fill in the many missing gaps. I felt I purchased a list of abbreviations and external resources instead of a complete book. I've worked in this field for decades, and don't find this book ideal for either beginners or experts. With the format of the questions at the end of each chapter, I believe this book is only intended to be used in a college setting as part of a course where additional material is available.

A Good Start but Falls Short

In this book the authors have attempted to provide a methodology for developing an Enterprise Business Architecture (EBA). But the book falls short in its ignorance of industry standard modeling notations such as BPMN and UML--thus making the methodology difficult to apply with any of today's modeling tools--and sites very simplistic examples.

The one pearl contained in this book is the focus on business objects (informational and tangible) being exchanged between business processes as a way of understanding dependencies in the architecture.

In my opinion, the content lacks the breadth and depth I would expect to see in a book describing something as significant as a methodology for developing a Business Architecture.

The Understanding of Enterprise Business Architecture

Enterprise Business Architecture: The Formal Link Between Strategy and Results
This book is similar to the The Power of Business Process but is more focused on the actual process improvement initiatives, I/T architecture, the value model, strategic allingment analysis and so on. This book helped me understand that before we can put all of our process steps together, we have to think differently - strategically, or a collaborative approach that adds a new dimention of our current ways of thinking. I would reccomend this book to a person that was entering the process architect role for a better understanding of what Enterprise Architecture is.

This book approaches the subject in a more correct way - indicating tot he value of business architecture

Previous works on this topic "scared" the readers to be careful of the complexity and all that jazz.
Business Architecture delivers immediate value and is a fun and satisfying discipline to be involved in.
Good step forward.
